Bonnaroo 2014: Saturday

High Temp: 84°F   Low Temp: 55°F

And I'm back, bright and early, in the booth. It's reverted back to the familiar hot days of Tennessee summer so we take it easy. When the Ben & Jerry's line gets down to nothing, we all take turns getting free ice cream. We get tons of visitors during the day. One women showed me a bag into which she had sewen a Bonnaroo map. Very cool.

Lionel Ritchie, Bonnaroo 2014

Lionel Ritchie
Listen, I'm not fan of Lionel's really, but the guy was amazing. He was charming and incorporated the audience in his concert. When you were feeling down after a relationship issue and you grab your CD, your cassette, your 8-track and you call upon ... LIONEL RITCHIE. Plus, he ended his set with 'We Are The World' which he co-wrote with Michael Jackson. How can you not love that?

Setlist: All Around the World; Penny Lover; Easy; Ballerina Girl; You Are; Truly; Running With the Night; Still; Oh No; Stuck on You; Dancing on the Ceiling; Three Times a Lady; Sail On; Fancy Dancer; Sweet Love; Lady (You Bring Me Up); Just to be Close to You; Endless Love; Say You, Say Me; Brick House; Hello; All Night Long (All Night); Encore: We Are the World (U.S.A. for Africa cover)

Jack White, Bonnaroo 2014

Jack White
I've seen Jack each time he's played on the farm. (White Stripes 2007; The Raconteurs 2008; Dead Weather 2010) So I was eager to see this. He delivered a legendary set that covered all of his bands and ended triumphantly with a blistering version of Seven Nation Army. "I've got nothing better to do than rock and roll!" Jack White is my fucking hero.

Setlist: Icky Thump; High Ball Stepper; Lazaretto; Hotel Yorba; Temporary Ground; Missing Pieces; Steady, As She Goes; Top Yourself; I'm Slowly Turning Into You; Freedom at 21; Three Women; You Don't Know What Love Is (You Just Do As You're Told); We're Going to Be Friends; Alone in My Home; Ball and Biscuit; The Lemon Song (Led Zeppelin cover) Encore: The Hardest Button to Button; Hello Operator; Pipeline; (The Chantays cover); Misirlou (Dick Dale cover); Sixteen Saltines; Cannon; Blue Blood Blues; Astro (First performance since 2007); Love Interruption; Little Bird; Seven Nation Army

The Flaming Lips and Frank Ocean are playing right now but I'm so flipping tired. Must sleep now.
