June 2020 Giveaway

It's a crazy time right now. June is supposed to be an exciting month as tens of thousands of us converge in Tennessee. Bonnaroo is our emotional support festival that normally gets us through the other 51 weeks of the year.

Let's honor the sacred month of spicy pie!

I've raided my collection and I'm going to give away old school Bonnaroo memorabilia through the month of June. Complete your collection, gift it, create art ... whatever you want. The grand prize is a brand new hand drum from Hatter Drums!

THE RULES

- Starting on Monday, June 1st, I will post at least one item per day to one of my social media platforms.

- To be eligible to win the item (unless otherwise stated) you need only to comment/reply on the social media post. That's all.

- Winners will be chosen randomly and notified in the comments of the post as well as the platform's DM in approx 24-hours. Winners will need to provide a valid mailing address in order to receive the item.

- Chances of winning the item will be improved for those who, in addition to leaving a comment on the social media post, make a donation of any amount to the international orphan charity for whom I volunteer, ONETrack International (OTI). Be sure to let me know!

OTI delivers the Transition to Home model of orphan-care in developing countries. I volunteered as part of a site visit to Zimbabwe in 2019, which was part of the reason I opted to miss Bonnaroo. This tiny 501c3 charity has no paid employees, no buildings or physical assets and is leading the way in diminishing the Global Orphan Crisis through eight global projects.

Donations will support associated costs for textbooks, school uniforms, household and hygiene necessities, and the Transition to Home program in part or entirely. OTI commits to supporting each orphan in the program until they finish school. On average, $500 will cover an orphan's needs for an entire year; $5,000 will cover an orphan's needs for their entire childhood.

Most of these items come from my personal Bonnaroo collection, cultivated from my visits to the farm beginning in 2007. I'm so lucky to have such amazing memories of the festival.

It's time for these things to be in the hands of folks who missed out on them. Nearly everything has actually been to Bonnaroo and is appropriately loved and/or worn.

Hatter Drums sells custom drums AND goes to Bonnaroo! You can design and build a custom drum and they'll teach you how to play it. It's a small family business with the coolest folks you'll ever meet. They gifted me a drum a few years ago and I'm paying forward their generosity and giving someone else the gift of a new drum.
