Now, you can start crossing things off!

Take care of your tent: Setup your tent, sweep it out and rinse it down. Apply Scotch Guard on the top for leak prevention. Be sure the tent is dry before packing it away.

Unless your tent has wheels: Chances are you already have a maintenance routine in place for your RV or trailer. Kick the tires and make sure everything is in working order.

Transport: Figure it out. If you have to rent something, do it soon.

Spring sales = camping supplies. Look for specials on heavy-duty tent stakes, bungee cords, solar equipment, tarps, coolers, camelbacks, chairs, hats, new shoes and a whole lot more. Make a list of items you need and start crossing them off. Garage sales can provide gems too.

The Slumberjack
Air Mattress vs Cot: I have used both options. They are each comfy in their own way. A mattress fits nicely in a two man tent and is readily available and pretty cheap. Lately however, I favor the cot because: There is no fluctuation in resistance like mattresses which shrink with temperature shifts. It lifts me firmly off the ground preventing any chance of waking up in a puddle or worse. Cots are bulky and heavy though and a bit pricey. Test out a friend's and see if you like the feel before making the purchase. I use a Slumberjack and it's terrific.

Bonnaroo = Good Beer

Find your beer: The no glass policy at Bonnaroo doesn't mean you have to drink crappy beer. If your store doesn't carry it, ask if they will do a special order. You can also do the same at your favorite bar. If that doesn't work, Goggle the nearest beer distributors and see if they can set you up. It might take a couple weeks, so start looking.

Tattoo time: If you want some fresh ink to sport at the festival, get it done in early May, at the latest. You'll want some time to let it heal before subjecting it to the Farm. Artists are often booked weeks in advance and may need time to help you with your design.

Cash: Put some play-money aside for the festival.

Get Fit: Go on a fitness routine so you're not wheezing into Centeroo. Start breaking in your new shoes.

See you in June!
