One Day At Bonnaroo
One Day At Bonnaroo, 2012
Digital media, 48x10.5 inches
Starting at the left, just above the tents, is That Tent where Mogwai is playing. The Ferris Wheel, a bobblehead and the Comedy Tent sit in the background. To the right is The Which Stage featuring The White Stripes. Jack White is simultaneously playing the guitar and piano. Epic. Between the big stages sits the famous arch, comprised from three years: 2007, 2010 & 2011. The Silent Disco is seen in the back.
On The What Stage, The Police are featured on the jumbotrons. However, actually on stage we have, from the left: T-Bone Burnett, Conan O'Brian, Amy & Levon Helm, Maynard James Keenan, Tom Morello, Jack Black & Kyle Gass, and Alison Krauss with Robert Plant. Now that's a Superjam!
Splash past the fountain to find the clock tower in the distance and Clutch rocking This Tent. Just near the Planet Roo globe and a bobblehead are the ever-faithful porta-potties and The Other Tent, though we can't quite see whose playing. Which is the other part of Bonnaroo - the beautiful discovery of music, friends, food and art.
One Day At Bonnaroo was an art project six-years in the making. Though it actually took me a few of weeks and a slew of Photoshop layers to create, I used 100% of my own photography from Bonnaroo, from each year I've attended starting in 2007. I looked at each of the 1,179 photos I've taken - looking for different elements to fit in - and slowly filled in the spaces. It may be crowded and chaotic, much like an actual day, but it's also festive and incredibly friendly and that's what it's all about. #roolife
