Tent / Trailer / RV Dream List

Tent / Trailor / RV Dream List Bonnaroo Chris

I love tents.
And I love most any camp dwelling because camping is cool. I've been a camper all my life, since I was a scout. I've never had a camper, but I have stayed in an RV at Bonnaroo and doing it again this year.

I'm also a sucker for the latest gear, as most boys are, and the utilitarian in me is always on the lookout for more practical products, (easier, smaller and less environmental impact). How fun would it be to test them out on The Farm? I know some are priced outlandishly, but I figure it's OK to live the dream. Prepare to drool.

TENTS:

HEIMPLANT - Bonnaroo Chris

HEIMPLANT  ::  $715 + S/H

Tent setup in a minute? That's appealing.

"The Cave is the first inflatable geodesic dome tent from Heimpalnet. Its inflatable geodesic frame offers the most efficient and stable structure - the Inflatable Diamond Grid, which offers an emergency stability thanks to the patented Multi Chamber Safety System. Pitching takes less than a minute. Just take the tent out of the bag, pump it up and you are ready to feel at home."

Concrete Canvas Shelters - Bonnaroo Chris

Concrete Canvas Shelters  ::  No idea on the $$$

... but it sounds way cool. I'm not sure a shaped concrete tent is ideal for the Farm but it sure seems rugged enough.

"Concrete Canvas Shelters are rapidly deployable hardened shelters that require only water and air for construction. A CCS25 variant can be deployed by 2 people without any training in under an hour and is ready to use in only 24 hours. Essentially, CCS are inflatable concrete buildings."

Field Candy - Bonnaroo Chris

Field Candy  ::  $400-$800

HOLY SH*T. I  love these. The quality seems to be all-there but the price is a bit steep. Must. Have. One.

"Your FieldCandy tent has been designed as a high performance expedition tent with classic ‘A’ frame storm tent construction. Based on the hardiest expedition tents on the market to stand up to extreme weather conditions, it will be more durable and waterproof than most others on the market."  Specifically, I want this one, Machine.

Kamp-Rite the Double Tent Cot - Bonnaroo Chris

Kamp-Rite the Double Tent Cot  ::  $239

I like this tent. Stable but keeps you off the ground and plenty of storage. At Bonnaroo, additional shade tents would be required. But for a duo on the go it seems pretty legit.

"Comfort is the main idea of this tent, which is longer than a queen-size bed and nearly so wide. It is made with 210D poly-oxford fabric, as well as PU waterproofed coating and aluminum frame."

Respite - Bonnaroo Chris

Respite  ::  $ N/A

The most mysterious of the bunch, and the only hybrid, I might enjoy it more when I see it in operation. You could actually stay in Centeroo for the entire time of the festival - something I've pondered about doing over the years. Ultimately, I always end up in my tent at the end of the night.

VW Camper Van Tent - Bonnaroo Chris

VW Camper Van Tent  ::  $400-500

Yeah, I've seen this around for awhile but I still love it.

TRAILERS:

SylvanSport Go - Bonnaroo Chris

SylvanSport Go  ::  $8,000

This seems so useful and beautiful.

"Weighing in at 840 lbs, GO can be pulled by even the smallest cars. Best of all, GO is imagined, designed, engineered, created and assembled right here in America. GO is extremely well made and crafted to last. The tent sets up in minutes and stows cleanly into the roof's storage box. It also comes equipped with a weather-tight gear box that locks to keep your weekend camping essentials secure and ready for whenever you go."

LittleGiant TreeHaus - Bonnaroo Chris

LittleGiant TreeHaus Tent Camper  ::  $3,300

Very similar to the one above, this is a scaled down version with the same functionality. Sleeping above your storage space, (but still providing 'stand up' space), makes everything handy.

"Light weight for small car towing.
Comfortably sleeps up to four people with storage and standing room; 6’10” interior height. Light aluminum Deck Wing panels set up outward using telescoping support arms.

Trailer end gates fit along sidewall track for three-sided surface area for sleeping; stow gear underneath in trailer bed, or mixture thereof. TreeHaus tent with screen ceiling/sky view, large bay windows, deck panel covers. Rain fly with Tie-Outs and Tie-Ins (self contained anchors). Assembly required, bolt-together kit."

Opera  ::  $37,000

Pretentiousness aside, this thing is 23-feet of amenities and looks like a comfortable way to spend the night anywhere you want.

"Opera starts out as a compact, 4-wheel trailer that hooks up to your car. Once you set up the camper (it's electric and takes only 5 minutes to unfold at the press of a button, no messing with tent poles here), Opera offers you absolute luxury in a classic tent setting. The floors are teak, the interior walls are high-grade cotton, and the finishings are done up in oak, corian, and stainless steel for a contemporary, rich feel. The lighting is entirely LED. Opera contains two electrically adjustable beds that can easily be turned into a double bed, as well as a mobile stove, barbecue (folds up to fit into the kitchen), hot and cold running water, and ceramic toilet, its own gas supply, negating the need to lug around an extra container, a wine cabinet, heat, an espresso bar, an enclosed veranda, a small baggage area that's great for storing folding chairs, a built-in compass. Expand it with KinderOpera, a kind of "add-on" tent that allows it to accommodate up to 6 adults."

T@B Trailer - Bonnaroo Chris

T@B Trailer  ::  $16,000-$20,000

Cute and compact, these trailers are simple and offer neat accessories. I could see myself in it.

Inspired by the classic teardrop camper trailer, the T@B takes teardrops to the next level. The T@B has done this by adding bright colors, standing room, sleek lines and many amenities. All of this was done while staying below the 2000 lb threshold - something that no other similarly designed trailer has been able to do.

Cricket Trailer - Bonnaroo Chris

Cricket Trailer  ::  $14,000+

This is my favorite trailer. The style is creative, unique and very functional. The 15′ by 6.5′ Cricket includes a popup hardtop roof that takes seconds to pop up and offers 6’2″ of standing room. The rear door can be lifted and used as an awning, the entry door is extra-wide and plenty of meshed windows allow for air flow.

• Folding couch • Separate beds • Combined bed • Rotating table • Kitchen counter • Stainless steel sink • Clean and grey water storage • 12-volt electrical system   And custom options: • Refrigerator • Cook top • Shower system • Portable toilet • Air conditioner • Heater • Solar panels

RVs:

Terrawind - Bonnaroo Chris

Terrawind  ::  $A lot

Out of all of the things listed, this one terrifies me the most. And I'm sure it freaks everyone out on the lake. Can I have an ejection seat with built in flotation device?

"The Terra Wind is a first class motor coach that is as comfortable on the lake as it is on the land with a highway speed of up to 80 mph and up to 7 knots on the water. The padded leather dash resembles an aircraft's cockpit with its many instrument gauges amd system controls. An on board computer docking system with internet access, GPS, moving maps, and navigational charts are standard equipment. The Terra Wind can be custom designed to fit virtually any decor with floor plans, entertainment systems, elcetronics, cabintry, floor coverings, furniture, paint, and graphics that can be tailored to suit individual needs."

EXTRAS:
LightCap/200
LightCap/200  ::  $18.73-$24.95.

LightCap/200 turns a water bottle into a solar-powered lantern. It comes equipped with a rechargeable battery and 4-bright white LEDs that offer plenty of light. This polycarbonate cap weighs 2. 7 oz, and after a four-hour charge of sunshine, it will light up for 2-3 hours. The Cap fits standard 2″ mouth water bottles and comes with a versatile retaining ring. Seems perfect for the Farm.

Restore
Restore  ::  $120.00

I love being self-sufficient on the farm and even though cell service sucks, it's nice to have a durable charging option. Put it on the dashboard and it'll be charged by the time you're up and about.

Ideal for charging personal devices like iPods® and smart phones. Advanced polycrystaline solar technology gathers maximum energy per inch for maximum efficiency. Power storage capacity: 2,200 mAh Output: mini-USB "
